PERMANENT RESIDENCE IN ECUADOR


Permanent residence is the migratory status that authorizes indefinite stay in the national territory, granted to individuals who meet at least one of the following conditions:


  1. 21 months or more of continuous presence in Ecuador, in the capacity of a resident, and submit the application prior to the expiration of the current residency.

  2. Having contracted marriage or maintaining a legally recognized civil partnership with an Ecuadorian or foreigner with permanent residency.

  3. Being a foreign child, minor, or person with a disability dependent on an Ecuadorian or foreigner with permanent residency.

  4. To be a relative up to the second degree of consanguinity or affinity of an Ecuadorian citizen or a foreign citizen with permanent residency in Ecuador.
